A variety of commemorative items is being developed by the Kansas Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commission. Polo shirts soon will be available. The Kansas Lewis and Clark Bronze Medallion, developed by the Commission, sells for $5.00. This antiqued bronze medallion measures 1-1/2" in diameter and is packaged in a sealed plastic bag. The front of the medallion features the Kansas Lewis and Clark Bicentennial logo; the reverse features the "Peace and Friendship" design originally struck on the "Jefferson Peace Medals" distributed by the Lewis and Clark expedition to tribal nations. The Kansas Lewis and Clark Silver Medallion in plastic case, developed by the Commission, sells for $30.00. This medallion measures 1-1/2" in diameter and is 99% pure silver. It is encased in a plastic capsule to prevent damage. Each medallion is a numbered, limited-edition item that will be highly prized by collectors and Lewis and Clark enthusiasts.
